ISA Process
Copper is electro refined from anode by means of electrolysis process using SS-blank as cathodes.
Copper anodes and SS blanks are inserted in electro refining cells. By applying direct current to this cell, copper in anode is dissolved and deposited onto the SS-blank surface. Cu % in cathode is more than 99.99%. By products at Refinery are anode slime and copper telluride.

Copper Anode Preparation in Anode Preparation Machine (APM)
Copper anodes from smelter are received and prepared in the Anode Preparation Machine (APM).

Inclusion of Anode and Cathode Sheets in Electrolytic Cell
Copper anode along with cathode sheets is inserted into the electrolytic cell.

Cathode Cropping
Copper cathode is lifted from the cell after 7 and 12 days. The weight of the cathode from the first crop is around 65 kg/sheet, and the weight of the cathode from the second crop is around 105 kg/sheet.

Cathode Washing & Stripping
Copper plates are washed and stripped from the SS-blank in the Copper Washing and Stripping Machine (CWSM).

Anode Weighing
Copper cathode products are automatically weighed and bundled, ready for shipment.

Anode Storage
Copper cathodes are stored in the cathode storage yard.
